We’re kicking off Day One of the Unity Utah Block Party with the first-ever public screening of the BGIU: Black Girls in Utah trailer — followed by a live Q&A with the creators.
BGIU is a coming-of-age dramedy series in the making — inspired by real-life chaos, whispered code-switching, awkward hallway moments, and growing up Black in... a Catholic school... in Utah.
It follows two girls trying to figure out who they are — and who they’re allowed to be — in a place that never really saw them. There’s heart, humor, and a lot of “wait, did that really happen?” energy. (It did.)
This premiere is just a glimpse of what we’re building — and a celebration of the community that’s helping make it possible.
✨ This event is FREE with RSVP and open to anyone who’s ever felt like they were growing up in a place that wasn’t built for them.
